| Come on lets face it there we would be a lot of laser cannons in the market as soon the technology was released :-) I can see how this would improve fuel efficiently by quiet a bit, highly atomized fuel and laser ignition, more stable combustion we would see a gambit of changes allow fuel economy to go way up, and yes even more horsepower too! I can see it now a ultra high revving applications being more feasable as rotating assembly could made lighter due to a more controlled combustion, engine harmonics would simply be smoother as ignition timing could be more precise. Higher boost applications due to less complications with pre-ignition. Also think of how a laser could ignite other fuel types as well not just gasoline. Very interesting technology I can see great them coming from it.
